Pitforge Economy Update

Hello, Adventurers,
We believe a strong, fair economy is the backbone of any long-lasting Factions experience. Our approach is all about player-driven value, keeping inflation under control while ensuring that every activity feels rewarding.
We know that Factions is home to two main playstyles that sometimes clash:
The Farmer, someone who likes to stay in their territory, expand farms and place more spawners until the point, that they cannot sell all their resources!
The Looter, someone who likes to challenge other players in the warzone, fight for the best looting spot, level up until they are maxed out.
Our goal with these changes is to enhance the experience for both playstyles, ensuring each remains a rewarding way to play.
Before we talk about the changes being made to the economy, let's talk about something that plays a big role in factions and the economy, the Auction House!
Auction House
We have developed an in-house Auction House plugin supporting multiple servers at a time for our needs! For now we have oriented ourselves towards the Hypixel's Skyblock Auction House (See here) and will use the layout and features it offers.

Notable Changes:
- A BIN and BID system*
- Filter items by name or rarity
- Customize the auction's duration
- See the price per unit for an item! (Affects upgradeable items)
- See historical prices of an item (Planned)
Black Market
A Black Market is a new feature being introduced to the gamemode. It is a service provided by the Auction House and, at it's core an Event being held once a day for several hours. The Black Market will open and offer random auctions that players can bid on!
Items being offered will vary a lot, from simple gear, to lootboxes, or store items such as special cosmetics, boosters, insurances and a lot more!
This targets all stages of the game and will drastically drain the pockets of the rich!
Economic Changes
As mentioned in the beginning, let's now talk about the changes that will have a great impact on the gamemode's economy! Let's start with a positive change!
Shop everywhere
We acknowledge that players don't have the time and capacity to invest 12 hours a day selling iron ingots, especially when this involves running to the shops's NPC and returning home to your faction.
You can now access /shop to buy and sell resources in your faction at every rank
Money Sinks
So, what's a 'money sink'? Simply put, it's a feature designed to give your money more value. For too long, cash has felt useless after buying spawners. These new money sinks will create meaningful goals and give you powerful new ways to spend your fortune.
Faction Interactions
Certain faction actions will now cost you money to execute. Here are some actions that will be affected (all prices are fictional and can change at any time):
- Changing your faction's name: $50,000
- Changing your faction's banner: $10,000
- Creating your faction's plot: $5,000
- Scouting other factions: $250
Crystal Charges
Novis is not offering his services for free anymore! If you'd like to open your crystal you have to pay a small fee based on the rarity of the crystal. For example $2,500 for a Rare Crystal
Item Upgrades
Items will now require money to upgrade to the next level! The exact costs for each level or rarity are yet to be determined. But here is how it'll work:
Between levels you still upgrade your item by combining pieces.
Once an item hits 100% progress, it can't be combined any further and the level remains the same. It will instead hint you with a message telling you that "An upgrade is available". It can then be upgraded at spawn for an additional fee!

Faction Upgrades
Faction Upgrades will play a big role in Season 6! From upgrading your faction's member count, to increasing spawner limit! There will be many upgrades available that will each have their own cost. Here are some notable upgrades available from the start:
Faction Plot
This is not an 'upgrade', rather a one-time purchase and not expensive either.
You are required to pay a $5,000 fee to create your faction's plot.
We designed this as a simple, inexpensive first step to help new players get familiar with the Upgrades system.
If you try to use /f home when you have not unlocked your plot yet, you will be greeted with the message: "Unlock your plot using /f upgrades"
(We might add multiple plots to be unlocked in the future)
Spawner Limit
Your faction can now only hold a limited amount of spawners. Once you hit that limit, you are required to upgrade your faction's spawner capacity.
The number of available upgrades and the cost for each upgrade is yet to be decided!
This means players must think carefully with the space and limits they have. And can no longer stack their spawners to infinity!
New Money Sources
We want to add more ways to obtain money while keeping current methods still viable.
Capture Points
This will be talked about in depth in a future blog post! But just a small heads-up:
Capture Points will reward players with money in regular intervals.
Example: Mining Town may deposit $50,000 into the capturer's faction bank every 30 minutes
